Job Description

This role involves operating CNC machines, saws, and drill presses to fabricate, drill, and mill parts used by various ramp companies. You will contribute directly to production by ensuring parts meet quality standards, are completed on time, and are processed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines to fabricate, drill, and mill parts according to specifications and production requirements.
  • Set up and run saws to cut materials accurately and safely for use in ramp components and related products.
  • Use drill presses to drill and mill parts with precision, following work instructions and engineering drawings where applicable.
  • Monitor CNC and other equipment during operation to ensure proper performance, making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Perform basic fabrication tasks, including measuring, cutting, drilling, and handling materials to support production needs.
  • Follow established production processes and prioritize safety, quality, and efficiency while completing daily tasks.
  • Inspect parts during and after machining to verify dimensions and quality, and identify any defects or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Use forklifts or other material handling equipment, if qualified, to move materials and finished parts safely within the facility.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in the shop.

Essential Skills

  • Experience operating CNC machines in a production or fabrication environment.
  • Hands-on experience using saws for cutting materials in a manufacturing or fabrication setting.
  • Proficiency with drill presses for drilling and milling operations.
  • Basic fabrication skills, including measuring, cutting, and handling materials safely and accurately.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work from job tickets or production plans.
  • Comfort working in a production environment with multiple machines and tools in use.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use provided personal protective equipment.
  • Capability to work assigned shifts and maintain reliable attendance.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to learn forklift operation in a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Welding experience is a plus and may provide opportunities to support additional fabrication tasks.
  • Exposure to military-style or specialized welding projects is beneficial.
  • Interest in learning new fabrication techniques and cross-training on additional equipment.
  • Comfort working with production schedules and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a shop environment.

Work Environment

The facility offers multiple shift options, including a first shift from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday with additional work on Fridays, and a weekend shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a shift premium. The shop is described as clean, comfortable in temperature, and slightly dusty due to fabrication work. You will work around CNC machines, saws, drill presses, and other production equipment, and may use forklifts for material handling. Personal protective equipment such as hard hats and helmets is provided to support a safe working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Germantown, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
