Job Description

Job DescriptionSalary: $110,000 - $130,000, DOE

Primary Objectives of Position:

Assist Jamborees Development staff and provide consultation to client project managers during the pre-development stage, including building orientation, entitlement, sustainability, value engineering, accessibility and permitting for new construction and acquisition/rehabilitation projects.

Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Provide consultation and assist Jamboree development staff during pre-development stage including building orientation analysis, design, scheduling, permitting, sustainability, value engineering, and accessibility through construction.
  • Review architectural, consultant and construction agreement scopes of work.
  • Provide consultation during the bid process and advise on the selection of the General Contractor.
  • Provide constructability review of design development and construction documents, consultant work product and specifications.
  • Review and advise on requests for interpretations, architect/consultant field reports, change order requests, addendum, bulletins and other construction correspondence. Review and process project submittals and submittal schedules.
  • Attend and represent Jamboree development staff during pre-development, design, construction meetings and site visits, ensuring contractor compliance with contract documents and advising on potential correction throughout the design and development of projects.
  • Assist is coordinating close out of General Contractors activities and final punch walk activities and delivery of systems walk maintenance procedures.
  • Operate computer-aided drafting (AutoCadd) equipment and programs to produce designs, technical drawings, specifications or other residential building standard documentation.
  • Obtain and assemble technical data to develop architectural designs, visit construction sites to compile measurements as necessary and implementing compiled information to produce design related documents.
  • Produce rough sketches and detailed drawings for buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, consultant layouts and specifications.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of Autocadd and Jamboree design standards and product specifications.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to Jamboree development staff and other duties as assigned.

Level of Education, Experience and Skill Set:

  • Current Architectural licensure preferred but not required.
  • Sufficient knowledge with residential multi-family and/or affordable housing design and construction.
  • Sufficient knowledge of computer software, including: AutoCAD 2012 (or later), Microsoft Outlook, Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational abilities and verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability of performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalency with minimum 6 years similar experience preferred.
  • Valid California drivers license and availability of an insured vehicle to travel within the California service area.
  • Position may require some evening and weekend hours.


Physical Demands:

The Project Manager, Construction is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel or implement. The employee is also required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, twist, lean, move from one location to another and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this position include close and far vision, with exposure to glare from a computer and outside site
observations. Employee shall have the ability to operate a computer keyboard and traverse construction jobsites. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and travel via automobile or airplane up to 30% of the time. Work Environment:

The work environment will usually be in a professional office setting, with possible shared workspace.
The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. When traveling or on-site, the environment may change dependent upon potential construction activity taking place and can often be moderately loud.
