Job Title: Dietary Aide

Reports To: Dietary Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Dietary Manager and the Cook, the Dietary Aide helps prepare the residents drinks and doctor-ordered snacks and helps set up trays for meals. The Aide also assists in the cleaning of the kitchen.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
- Responsible to: Dietary Manager and Cook on duty.
- Workers Supervised: None.
- Interrelationships: Dietary Aide works closely with all Dietary employees and LTC nursing staff, as well as interacting regularly with residents, residents families, and staff from throughout the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
- Prepares liquids for residents at mealtime.
- Assists in preparation of salads/desserts as requested by Cook/Dietary Manager.
- Sets up meal trays at mealtime.
- Assists with cleanup of kitchen throughout the day and at closing time.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to read and write, make simple calculations, and follow oral and written directions.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Works in clean, well-lighted, well-ventilated kitchen.
Stands and walks short distances throughout the workday.
Stoops for, reaches for, and lifts some small equipment.
Must be able to lift 10 pounds.
