Job DescriptionDiscount & Trade Spend Management

  • Oversee and track Below-the-Line (BTL) discounts and promotional expenditures across customer accounts.
  • Ensure that accruals, validations, and reconciliations of trade terms and discount schemes are performed promptly and accurately.
  • Support adherence to commercial agreements and internal policies relating to trade spend.
  • Analyze discount program performance and provide recommendations for optimization.

Customer Deductions Management

  • Monitor customer deductions and collaborate closely with Accounts Receivable to investigate, validate, and resolve outstanding items.
  • Identify recurring deduction concerns and engage with internal teams to minimize losses.
  • Track and report deduction trends, segmented by customer, category, and issue type.

Root Cause Analysis & Cross-Functional Resolution

  • Work with Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Sales to pinpoint and address root causes of deductions, including issues such as delivery delays, transit damage, short shipments, or invoice mismatches.
  • Foster accountability and develop action plans to prevent recurring problems and strengthen order-to-cash performance.

Enhancing Customer Throughput

  • Offer financial support for initiatives aimed at boosting order accuracy, delivery timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in cross-functional reviews to improve alignment between supply chain and finance teams and to advance throughput efficiency.
  • Track key performance indicators related to order fulfillment, claims processing, and deduction resolution timelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least four years of experience in sales finance, operational finance, or trade finance roles.
  • Solid knowledge of trade spend management, deduction resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience collaborating across Supply Chain, Accounts Receivable, and Sales departments.
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-oriented skills, with an emphasis on detail.
