Position Overview
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a highly specialized and dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time contract position in the Nottingham area. This unique, in-person role operates on a year-round school schedule, providing vital continuity of education and behavioral support for an intensive, specialized student population.

Key Responsibilities

Teach visually impaired students with multiple complex disabilities on both an individual and group basis.

Address significant intersecting and interfering academic, instructional, and behavioral needs.

Implement evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies specifically tailored to skill acquisition (instruction) and behavioral excesses (reduction).

Develop, write, and monitor compliant Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that address both vision and behavioral requirements.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field.

Ability to secure a Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification with an endorsement in Vision.

Comprehensive knowledge of special education principles, adaptive teaching practices, and compliant IEP procedures.

Strong experience working with autism and complex disabilities involving significant behavioral support needs is highly preferred.
