Position Reports To: Senior Manager SEC & Technical Accounting

Salary Range: $85K - $95K annually / DOQ

Posting to remain live until at least 05/04/2026


Purpose of Position: Responsible for preparing external financial reporting filings with the SEC (including but not limited to 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy filings), preparing and maintaining the accounting for certain technical accounting or compliance areas, and other ad hoc accounting analysis under the direction of the Senior Manager SEC & Technical Accounting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drafts the external SEC filings in Workiva, including but not limited to 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy filings in accordance with US GAAP, SEC standards, and XBRL requirements
  • Prepares the financial statement reporting schedules, tie-outs, reconciliations, and footnote support
  • Performs accounting research and documentation on an as needed basis for significant or unusual transactions, contract review, new accounting standards, and other areas as needed
  • Assists in preparing the quarterly and annual technical accounting analysis, such as ASC 350 and 360 impairment analysis and ASC 280 segment analysis
  • Partners with the Senior Manager SEC & Technical Accounting on drafting and maintaining global accounting policies and memos
  • Monthly close responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Stock-based compensation accounting and administration support to stock-based compensation provider
  • Equity accounting and reconciliation of shares
  • ASC 842 lease administration and accounting
  • Adheres to the financial reporting, information security and auditing requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act
  • Supporting the external audit and tax as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation includes a salary commensurate with experience, participation in group insurance plans upon eligibility, paid time off, sick leave, parental leave and more. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. We offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees and their dependents that includes:

  • Two (2) Medical Plans, with GrowGeneration contributing 80% to employee only coverage and 50% to employee + dependent(s) coverage

Part-time employees are eligible for up to six (6) days of paid sick leave (subject to state and local laws), two (2) weeks of paid parental leave, and participation in the 401k. Employees that move from part-time to full-time status may receive less than ten (10) PTO days based on their anniversary date. Benefits may be subject to generally applicable eligibility, waiting period, contribution, and other requirements and conditions.

Requirements:

  • CPA required
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • +2 years of experience with a public accounting firm on public company clients (or SEC filers)
  • Experience with Workiva and equity accounting software a plus
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Detail oriented with superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
