WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?
As a Behavior Specialist II, your day will begin with assessing and ensuring that our therapeutic environments align with best practices in behavior analysis. You will collaborate with direct care staff, providing on-site modeling, role-playing, and coaching to promote effective intervention strategies. Throughout the day, you will respond to behavioral emergencies, ensuring a safe environment for both students and staff, which may involve participating in physical restraint procedures when necessary. You will assist with various student appointments and related off-site activities, ensuring individualized treatment and community integration. Additionally, you will engage with clinical teams to carry out preference assessments and functional behavior assessments, and you will manage databases documenting incidents and behavior data.

WHAT'S NEEDED FROM A BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST II?
Schedule: This is a full-time psychology position with a variable schedule to meet departmental needs. You may occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation as assigned. Flexibility is key to ensuring we provide the best support to our clients.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Experience working with people with special needs or in a residential care setting
- Experience in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), Trauma-Informed Care, and ABA strategies
- CPR, First Aid, and non-violent physical intervention certifications (must be obtained within 3 months of hire and maintained during employment)
- Active driver's license in the state of residence that is current, valid, and in good standing
- Reliable transportation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to learn and use other software related to the position
