Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in the Carpinteria, CA area with an educational setting focused on delivering comprehensive student speech services. This travel opportunity extends until the end of the school year (EOSY), with the potential for extension depending on ongoing needs.
This role involves providing compensatory speech services to students who require additional support. The workload stems from a backlog of student cases, making your expertise essential for timely and effective intervention. An SLPA (Speech-Language Pathology Assistant) support will be provided if you currently have one, to help manage caseload responsibilities.
Key qualifications and experience desired:
- Valid SLP credentials with Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology services
- Familiarity with pediatrics and healthcare speech therapy practices
- Comfort and ability to conduct teletherapy sessions
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred
- Experience working with Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in both school and healthcare settings is a plus
Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations
- Delivering individualized compensatory speech therapy services aligned with student IEPs
- Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to facilitate student progress
- Maintaining accurate documentation and reporting compliant with school policies
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to student service planning
