- Sanitizing and cleaning processing areas: Sanitation workers are responsible for keeping manufacturing plants, including equipment and machinery, clean on a regular and scheduled basis in accordance with government regulations and food industry sanitation standards.
- Using appropriate cleaning methods: They use cleaning methods that comply with Good Manufacturing Standards to clean all equipment and utensils, as well as other fixtures like roofs, fans, ceilings, walls, and floors.
- Completing forms: Throughout the cleaning process, sanitation workers complete forms set by the sanitation and quality departments to track sanitation procedures and show proof of cleaning.
- Following a master cleaning schedule: They clean and sanitize production equipment based on a master cleaning schedule.
These responsibilities ensure that food is processed on clean machinery, reducing or eliminating the risk of microbe, pest, and allergen-related issues. Proper sanitation is essential for maintaining a safe food system. - MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN SANITATION
