Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable and Payable Specialist to join our dynamic and fast-growing accounting team. This dual-role position is responsible for processing invoices, managing customer and vendor accounts, and ensuring accurate financial transactions related to both receivables and payables.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send customer invoices, statements, and payment reminders.
- Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments.
- Review accounts weekly to assess aging and pursue collection of funds.
- Research customer deductions and verify their accuracy.
- Maintain and update customer master files.
- Investigate invoice discrepancies (price, quantity, etc.) with internal team members.
- Handle customer collections, inquiries, and account reconciliations.
General:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both customers and vendors.
- Meet monthly close deadlines.
- Generate ad-hoc reports as requested.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- 3-5+ years of accounts receivable experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks; previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail with a high sense of urgency.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Positive, energetic attitude and a motivated, self-starter mindset.
- Team player with a resourceful and inquisitive approach to problem-solving.
- Prior experience in the food, beverage, or manufacturing industry highly preferred.
