About Us

We are a children’s movement and gymnastic-skill facility specializing in whole-body awareness, fun, imaginative play, and foundational gymnastics skills for kids. We believe in mixing play, movement, and confidence building in a safe, energetic, and positive environment—much like the culture at The Little Gym ("serious fun" for kids).

Position Summary

We’re looking for a fun, high-energy instructor who loves working with children and is excited to guide them through foundational gymnastics/movement classes. The ideal person will:

  • Lead kids through whole-body awareness and foundational gymnastics movement (basic tumbling, balance, coordination, body control).
  • Create a warm, engaging, and enthusiastic class environment where children feel excited, safe and confident.
  • Keep the energy high, and adapt to the age group (for example, younger children may need more imaginative play; older children may be ready for skill-progressions).
  • Use positive encouragement, playful language, and movement-based activities to help kids build skills, confidence and coordination.
  • Treat each class as if it’s the child’s first day—keeping it fresh, fun, and full of possibility.
  • Provide great customer (parent) service: greet families, answer questions, help make the experience memorable.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and committed to the schedule above (Monday & Tuesday shifts) with the option to pick up additional shifts.
  • Ensure safety at all times—monitor equipment, follow gym safety procedures, and maintain a clean and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver classes for children (ages may vary, e.g., 3-10 years) focusing on whole-body awareness and basic gymnastics foundations (balance, tumbling, coordination, body control).
  • Use the facility’s curriculum to progress children’s skills while keeping it fun and imaginative.
  • Engage and interact with children: high-fives, movement games, encouragement, making kids feel excited and confident.
  • Communicate positively with parents/guardians: check-in, feedback at end of class (if applicable), answer simple questions.
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of equipment, maintain safe environment (equipment checks, class transitions, wipes/sanitizing as needed).
  • Possibly assist with or support special events (birthday parties, mini-clinics) if your schedule allows, though primary focus is the scheduled class times.
  • Be a part of the team: collaborate with other instructors, be open to training and development, attend staff meetings or training sessions.

Required Skills & Qualities

  • Energetic, outgoing, friendly personality; able to keep up with active children and maintain a fun tone.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for working with children and helping them move, learn, and grow.
  • Good communication skills: with kids (clear, positive, playful) and with parents/guardians (friendly, helpful).
  • Comfortable being physically active (you’ll be moving, demonstrating, and helping spotting basic skills).
  • Reliable and punctual: you commit to the Monday and Tuesday shift times and be open to additional hours.
  • Safety awareness: you understand the importance of safe movement, instruction, and monitoring kids.
  • Preferred (but not strictly required): background or interest in child development, gymnastics, physical education, dance, or sports.

What We Offer

  • A fun, high-energy environment where you truly make a difference for children’s confidence, movement skills and physical development.
  • Training and ongoing support (we use a proven curriculum and will help you get comfortable teaching).
  • A schedule that may fit well for part-time or flexible work (specific shifts plus opportunity to take extra shifts).
  • Opportunity to advance or pick up more hours if desired.
  • Being part of a team dedicated to growth, fun, movement and positive child-development.
