Job Description Summary / Objective
The Foreman supervises project craft employees assigned to specific projects, ensuring efficient and effective completion of tasks. This role is critical in delivering quality construction projects on time and within budget.
Essential Functions

- Supervise and prioritize the work efforts of employees.
- Read and follow plans, survey staking, material lists, and guidelines, applying necessary timelines. Interpret project plans, survey markers, and material lists to ensure accurate and timely task execution.
- Coordinate delivery, operation, maintenance, and fueling of all owned and rented equipment on the project.
- Understand estimated productions and current costs for every aspect of the project. Establish and monitor daily productions for project crews. Monitor actual production rates and compare them with estimates to manage crew productivity and control costs.
- Conduct regular tailgate safety meetings and maintain a clean and safe job site.
- Fulfill all regular and advanced installation/construction duties, including project layout, and complete required administrative paperwork and software system input in a timely manner.
- Organize, supervise, lead, and train employees to complete projects within established guidelines and time frames.
- Enforce all company and client-required safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including crewmember discipline and documentation.
- Submit accurate daily timesheets for all crew members per project via the designated electronic system by 6:00 AM the following day.
- Attend company safety and operational meetings as required.
- Preplan for continuous workflow at least 3 days in advance.
- Coordinate public and private utility locates.
- Establish and build client relationships.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of math and geometry.
- Maintain daily contact with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
- Prepare and update as-built drawings weekly.
- Oversee inspection signoffs and closeout checklists.
- Operate equipment as required.
- Drive company vehicles, adhering to all driving requirements and safe operation standards.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, typically requiring 50 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Travel to job sites is required.
Required Education and Experience
- High school education or GED.
- Related experience or training (3-5 years).
Preferred Education and Experience
Previous verifiable underground utility and horizontal sitework construction experience.
