Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide critical care to pediatric patients in a dynamic Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) serving children from infancy through adolescence. This role involves caring for a diverse patient population with complex medical and surgical conditions, utilizing advanced therapies such as ECMO and CRRT. The position requires flexibility in shifts with a rotating schedule primarily focused on day shifts, ensuring comprehensive, around-the-clock care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to PICU patients, maintaining ratios of 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, dietitians, and pharmacists.
- Monitor and manage ventilatory, cardiac, and renal supportive therapies.
- Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic health records.
- Participate in emergency response activities as needed, particularly during hurricane season.
- Adhere to facility protocols and contribute to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license in South Carolina or multi-state/compact license.
- Minimum of 2 years PICU nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome.
- BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
- Experience with ECMO and CRRT is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.
Schedule:
- Rotating 3x12 hour shifts (primarily days: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; 1 month nights: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend shifts required (4-5 per schedule)
- Managers may approve block scheduling upon request.

Contract Details:This is a contract position with some flexibility for local candidates within a 60-mile radius. The facility provides guaranteed hours with limited call-offs and requires approval for any requested time off.
