Speech-Language Pathologist Job Summary
As an SLP/SLPA, you will be responsible for providing therapy services to individuals ages 20 months-18 years who have articulation, language, and social skill disorders. You will directly interact with parents and caregivers providing suggestions for home practice. You will collaborate with the other two therapists sharing ideas, knowledge, successes and struggles as we are a team at Let's Communicate, Inc. It is a fun, interactive practice that takes pride in providing the best care for our patients and ongoing family support.
Speech-Language Pathologist Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with articulation, language and social skills disorders.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy in person
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordination of care if needed (OT, ABA)
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Stay on top of your patient caseload and progress notes in our electronic system
- Participate in professional development activities to stay current on best practices and meet your CEU requirements
Speech-Language Pathologist Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or completed SLPA course work and requirements
- Current license to practice Speech Language Pathology/SLPA in CA
- At least one year of experience in the field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of current best practices and standards in the field
- Able to work with a variety of patients presenting with varying communicative disorders
