Job Title: Tumor Registrar
Location: Hicksville, NY 11801 (Long Island – Local Candidates Only)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Duration: 9 Weeks (Contract)
Pay Rate: $40 – $43 per hour
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented Tumor Registrar to support both business operations and patient-care coordination functions within a healthcare department setting. This role is responsible for patient registration, insurance verification, demographic and financial data entry, chart management, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities

Register patients and update demographic and financial information

Verify insurance coverage and obtain required authorizations

Generate and review patient charts for completeness and compliance

Obtain required patient consents and signatures

Process laboratory specimens according to established protocols

Maintain registration logs and reconcile logbooks

Schedule clinic appointments and manage patient recall files

Retrieve, file, and maintain medical records accurately

Greet patients and visitors; answer and route incoming calls

Escort patients and visitors and provide appropriate information

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment

Assist with patient transport via wheelchair or stretcher as needed
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Basic computer and keyboarding proficiency

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and exercise sound judgment

Proficiency in written and spoken English
Preferred Qualifications
-
1+ year of healthcare experience
-
Experience in tumor registry or oncology-related registration strongly preferred
