Job DescriptionAudit Senior Audit Senior

This role is ideal for professionals with at least three years of experience in public accounting and a strong foundation in audit practices. Candidates are typically expected to have passed the CPA exam or be eligible to sit for it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of audit engagements, including planning, execution, review of workpapers, and preparation of audited financial statements.
  • Participate in client meetings and maintain professional communication throughout the engagement.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Understand and apply firm policies and procedures effectively.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency to oversee staff accountants.
  • Begin cultivating strong client relationships and loyalty.
  • If primarily assigned to financial statement engagements:

  • Develop expertise in GAAP, OCBOA, and specialized accounting principles.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures.
  • Take responsibility for managing both audit and non-audit engagements efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
  • CPA license, passed CPA exam, or eligible to sit for the exam
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in public accounting
  • Experience auditing not-for-profit and affordable housing entities (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and QuickBooks
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet deadlines
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
