Position Summary:
Erie County Community College (EC3) seeks a Practical Nursing faculty member dedicated to high-quality teaching, student success, and the community college mission. This 12-month position typically carries a 36-credit annual teaching load and is responsible for the delivery of didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction and works to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing regulations for Practical Nursing programs (§21.191–§21.194), ACEN standards, and institutional policies.
Faculty members contribute significantly to the implementation of college policies and procedures and are expected to fulfill all responsibilities with integrity and in accordance with applicable laws and institutional regulations.
Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
Expected Start Date: August 3, 2026
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Instruction
- Prepare and teach assigned classes and labs using lessons aligned with course, program, and workforce goals.
- Select and develop course materials that maintain quality while limiting student costs.
- Support adjunct instructors in the assigned department(s) through mentoring, syllabus review, and guidance with administrative compliance and documentation.
- Maintain learning labs within the assigned discipline and provide instructional guidance in open and scheduled lab experiences.
Student Success and Support
- Provide regular, timely, and constructive feedback to students.
- Engage with students outside of class to encourage continued academic growth.
- Participate in structured advising of students as assigned.
- Demonstrate awareness and respect for diverse student backgrounds and experiences.
Professional and Institutional Duties
- Participate in program review and assessment activities; utilize outcomes assessment to improve learning/instruction.
- Continually assess program quality and recommend program updates as necessary.
- Attend faculty and college meetings and serve on committees and campus activities.
- Participate in faculty and self-evaluation processes, including continuous improvement efforts.
- Complete training required to perform effectively and remain current with trends in discipline and higher education including required regional or industry certifications.
- Assist with class scheduling, faculty identification, and industry advisory engagement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and contribute to a collegial campus culture.
12-month Faculty Responsibilities
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, 12-month faculty members are expected to:
•\tRepresent the college as the Point of Contact for industry partners within the assigned department.
•\tOversee and supervise all instruction/lab spaces within the assigned department.
•\tRecruit and participate in the hiring process for new full-time and adjunct faculty within the assigned department.
•\tMeet with transfer partners or four-year institutions to ensure course alignment and transferability of credits.
•\tParticipate in community or employer outreach activities related to the assigned department.
•\tWhere appropriate, coordinate with industry certification agencies to provide students with credential attainment opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications:
•\tBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
•\tCurrent, active, unencumbered Pennsylvania RN License
•\tMinimum of (5) years full-time clinical nursing experience.
•\tMinimum of (1) year full-time experience in long-term nursing care.
•\tCurrent BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications:
•\tTwo years of teaching experience in a higher education setting
•\tExperience with Blackboard or similar online Learning Management System
•\tExperience supporting a diverse population of learners in the educational environment
