Trinity School at Edgemere is seeking an experienced, mission-driven academic leader to serve as our Academic Principal and Instructional Leader. This position also serves as the Middle School Division Head, providing hands-on leadership to faculty, students, and families in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate is passionate about innovative instruction, deeply knowledgeable about learning differences, and eager to lead a growing school committed to excellence.

Located in the heart of OKC across from Edgemere Park and near the Paseo Arts District, Trinity School at Edgemere is a private K–12 school designed to serve students with diagnosed learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. Our educators use a strengths-based, multi-sensory approach in small classroom settings to promote confidence, competence, and joy in learning.

Position Summary

The Academic Principal and Instructional Leader provides vision, structure, and support for Trinity’s K–12 academic program. In addition to system-wide instructional leadership, this position serves as Middle School Principal, managing the day-to-day operations, faculty support, and student experience for grades 6–8. This leader works in close partnership with the CEO, Division Heads, and support staff to uphold high standards of teaching and learning while fostering a strong, supportive school culture.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership

  • Guide the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum across divisions, ensuring consistency with Trinity’s instructional philosophy and best practices for neurodiverse learners.

  • Supervise and support Division Heads and Department Leads, with direct responsibility for the Middle School Division.

  • Promote and model effective instructional strategies, including Orton-Gillingham, project-based learning, and multi-sensory teaching.

  • Lead teacher coaching and professional development initiatives that build faculty capacity in differentiated instruction and student engagement.

  • Use assessment data to drive instructional improvement and student growth across all grade levels.

Middle School Principal Duties

  • Oversee daily middle school operations including student discipline, scheduling, teacher support, and parent communication.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for middle school faculty, students, and families.

  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive middle school culture that aligns with Trinity’s mission and values.

  • Coordinate with academic support staff to ensure implementation of accommodations and individualized plans for middle school students.

  • Support extracurricular programs and special events that enrich the middle school experience.

Academic Operations & Strategic Leadership

  • Ensure alignment between curriculum, instruction, and student supports through collaboration with Academic Services and Counseling.

  • Manage and evaluate instructional resources, technology platforms, and school policies related to academics.

  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team on strategic planning, staffing, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Represent academic programs in board reports and community-facing events.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence throughout the school.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Special Education, or a related field required.

  • Oklahoma Principal Certification preferred.

  • 5–7 years of teaching and/or administrative experience; background in schools serving students with learning differences strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in instructional leadership and faculty development.

  • Deep knowledge of differentiated instruction, student accommodations, and multi-sensory teaching methods.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
