An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to support a long-term acute care hospital in Greenfield, IN, for an 8 to 13-week contract assignment starting ASAP. This facility maintains 25 staffed beds with an average daily census of 12 patients, offering a focused environment to apply specialized pharmaceutical skills.
Work Schedule:
- Typical hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Occasional extended hours as needed
- On-call and weekend coverage required, shared with the Pharmacy Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily pharmacy operations within a long-term acute care setting
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and safely, including IV compounding (no chemotherapy involved)
- Utilize the hospital pharmacy information system (HCS ePharmacy) and Omnicell automation system effectively
- Collaborate closely with the pharmacy technician and healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide continuous pharmacy support
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist licensure with experience in hospital pharmacy practice
- Proficiency in IV compounding techniques
- Familiarity with hospital pharmacy management systems, preferably HCS ePharmacy
- Experience using automation systems such as Omnicell
- Ability to work independently and effectively within a small pharmacy team
- Willingness to cover on-call and weekend shifts
