Construction Superintendent — New West Building Company
Work Location: On-site — Ogden, UT
Job Type: Full-time, salaried
New West Building Company builds high-quality residential and commercial projects with a focus on craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork. We’re looking for a skilled Superintendent to join our team.
About the Role
A Construction Superintendent will lead day-to-day field operations for residential and/or commercial projects and is responsible for managing jobsite execution from planning through completion—driving schedule, quality, safety, and coordination across trades and stakeholders. The Superintendent works in close partnership with the Project Manager and communicates regularly with owners, tenants, and design teams to ensure expectations are met and construction documents are executed to NWBC standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with building owners/tenants to review build-out specifications and planned improvements
- Create estimates for build-out projects (labor, materials, supplies, and ancillary costs)
- Coordinate all construction services and activities on-site
- Maintain and manage daily/weekly/monthly schedules and support budget control; adjust as needed to hit deadlines
- Lead and manage on-site construction crews and subcontractors
- Attend production meetings and maintain constant communication with the Project Manager
- Maintain a daily jobsite log and take daily photos
- Ensure work meets quality expectations of New West Building Company, the client/design team, and the construction documents
- Place material orders and maintain responsibility for equipment and materials on-site
- Monitor safety compliance; maintain project safety/injury logs and uphold safe work practices
- Maintain site cleanliness and overall orderliness
- Keep detailed records for site personnel and jobsite activities
- Oversee all phases of the project through completion
- Perform other duties as project needs arise to support the overall success of the project and the project team
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar role
- Strong understanding of construction operations, sequencing, and field coordination
- Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word), Procore, and Bluebeam
- Demonstrated strengths in:
- Organization and time management
- Leadership and collaboration with diverse internal/external partners
- Adaptability, responsiveness, and clear communication
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Competent understanding of:
- Safe work practices
- Plan reading, shop drawings, and specifications
- Submittals, RFIs, and scopes of work
- Surveying and change orders
- QA/QC and code requirements
- Inspection scheduling and signoff
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Travel: Estimated at 15% or less (primarily jobsite-to-jobsite or jobsite-to-office). A valid driver’s license is required for requisite travel.

Compensation: The pay rate listed reflects the maximum for this role. Actual starting pay will be based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
