Location: Evapco Headquarters (Taneytown, MD)
Duration: Summer 2025 (Approx. 3 months)
Position Summary: As a Welding Engineering Intern, this position will support Corporate Welding Engineers on various tasks and projects to not only aid in the completion of the respective projects but to learn new skills along the way. The goal is to provide exposure to different tasks and responsibilities that a Welding Engineer may come across in their career. The ideal candidate would build off of this experience over multiple summer internships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and implementation of welding processes.
- Support the evaluation of weld quality through inspection and testing of samples acquired from our manufacturing facilities as well as from the field.
- Collaborate with engineers on projects related to welding specifications and procedures.
- Conduct research on new welding techniques and materials.
- Document findings and contribute to project reports and presentations.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on engineering challenges.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- Basic understanding of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, etc.).
- Basic understanding of NDE methods (VT, PT, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in technical writing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A commitment to safety and quality in engineering practices.
