Our client, a leader in the professional contract staffing industry, is seeking a Staffing Specialist / Recruiter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled at managing multiple priorities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the candidate and client-facing sides of recruiting and has a strong administrative and payroll background.

The Staffing Specialist will play a vital role in sourcing and placing qualified candidates in various temporary and temp-to-hire positions, including administrative, accounting (e.g., accounts payable), customer service, and call center roles. This position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships.

Compensation: $65K - $75K + Bonus
Location: Oak Brook, IL

Key Responsibilities

  • Source, screen, and place candidates for contract and temp-to-hire roles.

  • Coordinate candidate interviews, facilitate the onboarding process, and conduct post-hire follow-ups.

  • Review and explain responsibilities to new hires, including reporting structure, timesheet procedures, and performance expectations.

  • Evaluate and interpret Predictive Index assessments as part of the hiring process.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client staffing needs.

  • Collaborate with internal sales teams to identify new business opportunities.

  • Participate in client meetings via phone, Microsoft Teams, or in person.

  • Understand client operations to recommend tailored recruitment strategies.

  • Handle all payroll-related duties for assigned contractors.

  • Ensure accuracy in contractor timekeeping and reporting.

  • Manage office administrative tasks to ensure consistent workflow.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a staffing, recruiting, or human resources role.

  • Experience with recruiting for administrative, sales, marketing, customer service, banking, or finance roles.

  • Proven success in a client-facing capacity.

  • Familiarity with payroll processes and HR compliance procedures.

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills.
