Compensation:

  • $36–$40/hr (Local Candidates)
  • $44–$50/hr (Travelers)

Shift & Schedule:

  • Day Shift
  • 5x8-Hour Shifts (40 hours/week)
  • Weekend Requirement: As per facility needs
  • Holiday Requirement: As per facility needs
  • Onsite Role (No remote flexibility)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to support clinical operations in a fast-paced outpatient eye care setting. This role involves performing diagnostic testing, assisting physicians, and ensuring efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preliminary ophthalmic testing including visual fields, tonometry, color vision, and ocular motility assessments
  • Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and documentation
  • Obtain and record patient medical and personal history
  • Prepare patients for exams and minor procedures
  • Clean, sterilize, and prepare ophthalmic instruments
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment (e.g., slit lamp, tonometer, keratometer)
  • Coordinate lab tests, imaging, and surgical scheduling as needed
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked and organized
  • Provide patient education and support regarding procedures and treatments
  • Assist with laser treatments and minor in-office procedures

Requirements:

  • Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician preferred
  • Experience in eye care or outpatient specialty clinics preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in clinical tasks

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Certifications & Licensure:

  • Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)
