A Registered Nurse with expertise in psychiatric nursing is needed for an adult forensic and intensive care unit specializing in co-occurring disorders. This contract position is located in Chester, VT, and requires candidates to start on either January 5 or January 19, with no exceptions. Candidates must be highly experienced and comfortable working in this specialized environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess and address individual and group patient needs.
- Utilize the nursing process to provide complex nursing care tailored to each patient.
- Provide clinical supervision of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) to maintain safe and therapeutic care delivery.
- Support patients through medically assisted withdrawal, stabilization, and education focused on sobriety and managing co-occurring psychiatric conditions such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders.
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment conducive to ongoing recovery.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with psychiatric nursing experience.
- Significant experience working in adult forensic and intensive care psychiatric settings.
- Ability to start on specified dates (January 5 or January 19) is mandatory.
- Skilled in managing co-occurring disorders and complex psychiatric cases.
- Experience supervising clinical staff in a behavioral health environment.
