The Organization
Francophone Charter School of Oakland is a French immersion charter school that opened its doors in 2015. Our mission is to provide a dual-immersion curriculum to a diverse community of students and to develop bilingual and bi-literate global citizens who are open minded and who value intellectual curiosity, personal integrity and creativity.
Summary of Position
Serves as site-based leader of the school. Responsible for implementing and managing the policies, regulations, procedures and curriculum, to ensure all students have a safe learning environment and receive instruction that meets or exceeds FCSO standards. Responsible for leading program evaluation, extracurricular activities, personnel management, facilities operations, emergency procedures, and resource scheduling.
Key responsibilities:
- Articulate and model the school’s mission, vision, and values.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to oversee the administrative operation of the school site for the purpose of maintaining a safe and efficient school environment.
- Collaborate with the Dean of Instruction to supervise assigned school (certificated and classified) personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and achieving overall objectives of Francophone’s curriculum.
- Collaborate with the Dean of Instruction to develop and implement professional development and teacher coaching.
- Responsible for student discipline and campus supervision.
- Develop evaluation criteria for measuring student performance.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to create a wide variety of written compliance reports and materials (e.g. quantity reports, discipline plans, correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
- Collaborate with operations staff to monitor and oversee campus facilities.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to implement organizational systems related to maintaining campus safety, security, OSHA standards, and emergency procedures.
- Participate in the School Leadership Team.
- Promote and maintain a positive school culture for students, parents, and staff.
- Ensure student progress is appropriately assessed, recorded, and communicated with parents.
- Collaborates on the hiring of staff and teachers.
- Supports teachers with visa requirements and processes through immigration agency.
- Works with the Executive Director, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction to develop and implement the academic, social and cultural life of the school.
- Perform obligations mandated by laws or Board policy and perform other duties related to the position.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to promote parent engagement and support families as needed.

Requirements:
- Valid California teaching / Counseling credential
- Teaching and administrative experience in K-12 education with increasing levels of responsibilities in school setting
- Valid California Administrative Services credential
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with major course work in education preferred
- Bilingual English / French
