An opportunity is available for a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to serve as the working manager at a retail pharmacy affiliated with a hospital in Hibbing, MN. This contract position offers a Monday through Friday day-shift schedule with no nights or weekends, ideal for professionals seeking consistent hours. The assignment begins immediately and extends for approximately 13 weeks.
This lower-volume pharmacy focuses significantly on discharge medications for hospital patients, making accuracy, efficiency, and patient counseling essential aspects of the role. The PIC will oversee pharmacy operations, manage pharmacy technicians, and collaborate closely with healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify, fill, and check prescriptions to ensure patient safety and compliance.
- Provide oversight and direction to pharmacy technicians, ensuring smooth workflow.
- Consult with healthcare providers regarding medication therapy and patient care.
- Counsel patients on prescription and over-the-counter medications, offering clear guidance and support.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Pharmacist with credentials permitting practice in the state.
- Prior experience as a Pharmacist-in-Charge or working manager in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Strong knowledge of prescription verification and discharge medication processes.
- Excellent communication skills for patient counseling and provider collaboration.
- Ability to manage and supervise pharmacy staff effectively.
