Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Mother Baby (Nights)
Assignment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights | 3×12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for:
    • High-risk OB
    • Antepartum patients
    • C-sections
    • Vaginal deliveries
    • Postpartum mothers and newborns
  • Manage and monitor drips including magnesium and insulin.
  • Deliver patient-centered care following nursing process standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe transitions and quality outcomes.
  • Float across Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR.
  • Participate in required weekend and holiday rotations.

Shift & Schedule

  • Nights: 3×12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)
  • Weekends: Every 3rd weekend
  • Holidays: Required if scheduled (must work 2 of 3 winter holidays)

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1.5 years recent Mother Baby experience in a hospital setting
    • Experience in:
      • High-risk OB
      • Antepartum
      • Postpartum
      • L&D support (floating)
      • C-sections & vaginal deliveries
      • Magnesium & insulin drips
    • Must have completed at least 1 travel contract within last 12 months
    • No first-time travelers
  • Certifications (Required):
    • BLS (AHA)
    • NRP
  • License:
    • Iowa RN license or compact license
