Benefits Specialist – Payroll & Employee Services
Location: Commerce, GA
Type: Temp-to-Hire
Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 annually DOE

Key Responsibilities
- Administer end-to-end payroll processes in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Accurately calculate regular pay, overtime, bonuses, and special compensation
- Process payroll adjustments including retroactive pay and time-off requests
- Manage employee leaves of absence and maintain thorough documentation
- Reconcile payroll and benefits data, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions
- Serve as the liaison between the company and insurance providers, third-party vendors, and government agencies
- Support benefits administration including open enrollment and routine reconciliations
- Handle tax withholdings, deductions, and ensure proper reporting
- Maintain payroll records and generate required reports for internal and external use
- Stay informed on evolving payroll and benefits regulations to ensure ongoing compliance
- Respond to employee inquiries with clarity, empathy, and professionalism
- Assist with additional payroll and benefits-related tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Strong understanding of employee benefits programs (401(k), FMLA, COBRA, etc.)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
- Solid grasp of payroll calculations including overtime and shift differentials
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Clear and effective communication skills for employee-facing interactions
- Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
