H2Bravo is a woman-owned program management and construction oversight firm that supports state and local governments implementing federally funded disaster recovery programs. The firm delivers housing recovery services under HUD Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery programs, supporting damage assessments, environmental compliance, construction monitoring, and program oversight.

H2Bravo has successfully supported recovery initiatives funded through FEMA, CDBG-DR, and CDBG-MIT programs. Our mission is to partner with communities to deliver compliant, auditable, and efficient recovery programs that restore housing while strengthening long term resilience.

About the Role

H2Bravo is seeking a Certified Lead-Based Paint Inspector to perform lead-based paint inspections for residential properties participating in HUD funded housing recovery programs. The inspector will conduct field investigations, collect samples, document findings, and prepare inspection reports in compliance with EPA and HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule requirements.

This position supports environmental compliance activities for housing rehabilitation and reconstruction programs implemented after federally declared disasters.

Qualifications

Required Certifications (must provide proof)

  • Lead-Based Paint Inspector certification recognized by EPA or state authority
  • Certification must be current and in good standing

Required Experience

  • Knowledge of HUD Lead Safe Housing Rule (24 CFR Part 35)
  • Experience conducting lead-based paint inspections on residential structures
  • Experience using XRF analyzers or collecting paint chip samples
  • Strong written documentation and reporting skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel within assigned project areas

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting HUD CDBG-DR or CDBG-MIT housing programs
  • Experience coordinating with contractors, homeowners, and program staff
  • Familiarity with environmental review processes under HUD regulations
  • Experience working with program databases or mobile inspection tools

Responsibilities

  • Conduct lead-based paint inspections on residential structures funded through disaster recovery housing programs
  • Collect paint, dust, and soil samples using approved testing methodologies including XRF analysis and laboratory sampling
  • Document inspection findings and photograph field conditions
  • Prepare inspection reports identifying the presence of lead-based paint and potential hazards
  • Coordinate site visits with program staff, homeowners, and contractors
  • Maintain chain-of-custody procedures and documentation for all samples collected
  • Ensure all inspections comply with HUD, EPA, OSHA, and applicable state regulations
  • Upload reports and documentation into the program system of record as required
