Carpenter Foreman – Rough Carpentry
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreman to lead and supervise rough carpentry crews on a variety of construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical skills in rough carpentry and the ability to coordinate, train, and motivate a team while ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and safe job-site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise crews performing rough carpentry tasks, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Oversee construction and installation of sign structures, stairs, handrails, framing, and other rough carpentry assemblies.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to plan daily work activities.
- Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment needed to complete assigned tasks.
- Perform hands-on carpentry work alongside the crew as needed.
- Conduct daily safety meetings and uphold company safety procedures.
- Ensure work is completed on schedule and assist in resolving job-site issues.
- Communicate progress, needs, and challenges to project management and leadership.
- Train and mentor carpenters and laborers to build skillsets and maintain high performance.
- Inspect completed work for compliance with project plans and quality standards.
Qualifications: -
- 5+ years of experience in rough carpentry, including framing, stair and handrail construction, and structural/architectural sign building.
- 2+ years of experience supervising carpentry crews.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Solid leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various outdoor conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
