Position Overview
Machine Operators are responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating various machines. Machines include beam saw, CNC, edge bander, and more. This will include maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Set up and operate machinery so that the work is performed at the highest level of efficiency, quality and meeting all deadlines.
- Ability to learn programs and how to make dimensional changes.
- Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls.
- Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Optimize the use and output of the machine on a daily basis in filling work orders.
- Ensure that the equipment is maintained in an excellent working condition.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting to determine required parts and/or service.
- Follow other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties and roles as requested by supervisor.
- Understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to assist in the improvement of SOPs.
- Work mainly from work orders, drawings and/or blueprints.
- Perform all daily maintenance and clean-up duties for machinery and department as directed by supervisor.
- Ability to work in any department as required in custom millwork environment.
Required Skills/Abilities
- The ability to read and understand work orders.
- Ability to learn and understand the products and methods used in millwork manufacturing.
- Understanding of equipment used to process components used in millwork manufacturing.
- The ability to competently and safely operate all associated equipment and tools.
- The ability to measure and machine to tight tolerances.
- Understanding of the steps involved in fabrication of a project from layout to installation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be detail oriented and well organized.
- Must have skill working in a team environment.
- Familiarity with general plant safety policies.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Visual accuracy to read dimensions on a tape measure as well as assembly sheets.
- Using keyboard and monitor to program machinery.
- Able to stand for duration of working hours.
- Work involves walking, talking, hearing, and using material handling equipment.
- Vision abilities require close vision assessments.
- Required to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 50 lbs. continually.
- May be required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Moderately loud noise levels in plant environment.
