Job Description

The Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) plays a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities by conducting assessments, developing care plans, and coordinating services within a multidisciplinary team. Acting as a consultant to care teams, the QIDP ensures compliance with regulations, advocates for clients' needs, and facilitates training to enhance team effectiveness and client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client assessments to identify needs and strengths
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Coordinate services among care providers and specialists
  • Monitor compliance with applicable regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize client care
  • Communicate with families to involve them in care planning
  • Document client progress and maintain accurate records
  • Intervene in crisis situations to ensure client safety
  • Advocate for clients’ rights and access to services
  • Deliver training to care teams on best practices and compliance
  • Prepare regulatory reports and documentation as required

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in intellectual disability services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) certification
  • Experience in behavioral assessment and person-centered planning
  • Skills in crisis management and regulatory compliance
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficiency in documentation, advocacy, and training facilitation
