Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a locally based non-profit organization in the search for a new Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This position will report to the Controller and will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, including processing both bank account and balance sheet account reconciliations. Candidates should have a strong background in non-profit accounting and must be comfortable working in-office at their DC-based headquarters. Essential Job Duties

Prepare and review monthly financial statements and assist with variance analysis for internal stakeholders and external reporting

Oversee general ledger activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and account analysis

Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting

Assist with the annual audit and preparation of Form 990, acting as a liaison to external auditors

Maintain restricted and unrestricted fund tracking in accordance with donor and grant requirements

Monitor program budgets and collaborate with program managers to ensure compliance with funding allocations

Prepare grant-related financial reports and reimbursement requests for federal, state, and private grants

Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory standards

Assist with cash management and bank reconciliations

Support development of annual organizational budget and periodic forecasting updates

Contribute to the improvement of financial systems and processes for increased efficiency

Train and mentor junior accounting or finance staff, as needed
