We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our interdisciplinary care team.
Position Summary
The Hospice Massage Therapist provides therapeutic massage services to patients receiving hospice care. This role focuses on enhancing comfort, reducing pain, and promoting relaxation while supporting the overall plan of care developed by the hospice team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and effective massage therapy tailored to the needs of hospice patients.
- Collaborate with nurses, social workers, chaplains, and physicians to integrate massage into individualized care plans.
- Document patient sessions accurately in compliance with state, federal, and hospice regulations.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on the benefits of massage therapy in hospice care.
- Maintain infection control standards and uphold patient safety at all times.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate compassion, respect, and sensitivity in all patient and family interactions.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) in the state of Minnesota (or ability to obtain licensure).
- Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience providing massage therapy; hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques including Swedish, gentle touch, and relaxation-focused modalities.
- Ability to adapt massage techniques to fragile patients with complex medical conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
