Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An elementary school in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-semester contract position. This full-time role involves supporting inclusion students within an elementary school setting, offering a valuable opportunity to contribute to student growth and development in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to a caseload of 14-15 inclusion students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Track student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
- Participate in team meetings and parent communications as necessary.
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
- Perform general duties as assigned by school administration.
Qualifications:
- Active teaching license or certification in Special Education in the state of Massachusetts.
- Previous school-based teaching experience in special education.
- Spanish-speaking skills preferred but not required.
- Successful completion of CORI background check and fingerprinting (letter of suitability may be accepted from a previous employer).
- Commitment to working onsite during school hours (8:45 AM to 3:30 PM).
- Ability to manage a caseload of 14-15 students effectively in an inclusion setting.
Position Details:
- Location: Cambridge, MA, Elementary School setting.
- Schedule: Full-time, 32.5 hours per week.
- Work Hours: 8:45 AM to 3:30 PM.
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Estimated Contract End Date: Spring 2026 or June 30th, coinciding with the end of the school year.
- Onsite attendance required.
- Interview process includes a Zoom interview.
