Summary:
Maintain accurate financial records, support grant and operational accounting, and ensure the effective use of the organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This position leverages ERP‑driven workflows and uses advanced Excel skills to analyze, reconcile, and improve financial processes. The position supports the organization's processes toward standardized, system‑driven financial operations. Driving required,. Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of personal auto insurance. Must successfully pass credit, background, and driver record checks.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred, with a minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience working in an ERP system; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar mid‑market ERP systems strongly preferred. Experience working in a paperless or low‑paper accounting environment preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Perform day‑to‑day accounting functions within the organization's ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), ensuring transactions are complete, accurate, and timely.
- Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP platforms, including navigating modules, entering transactions, and using system reports.
- Utilize ERP workflows to process transactions such as invoices, journal entries, approvals, and reconciliations.
- Maintain financial records and prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP, organizational policies, and grant requirements.
- Manage accounting and reporting for grant‑funded programs, including budget tracking, expense analysis, grant invoicing, and compliance documentation.
- Perform bank, general ledger, and subledger reconciliations directly within the ERP system.
- Use Microsoft Excel extensively to analyze data, prepare reconciliations, and support financial reporting (e.g., large datasets, pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data validation).
- Efficiently use workflow‑based systems, document management tools, and shared digital workspaces.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, eliminate manual or paper‑based processes, and increase efficiency through better system usage.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial data, proper use of workflows, and adherence to standardized processes.
- Support audits, system reviews, and other financial projects, including documentation prepared electronically and stored in shared systems.
- Work collaboratively with Workforce and Family Services to provide participant services.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and directives of Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest, assuring the safety of personnel and property.
- Properly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain agency confidentiality. Violation of confidentiality is cause for immediate dismissal.
- Comply with all health, safety, and fire standards and all local, state, and federal regulations (WISHA & OSHA).
