This full-time position, located in Williamsburg, VA, offers an opportunity to provide dedicated support as a paraprofessional working 1:1 with a student in a special education setting. The role involves assisting a student with unique needs within a school environment, contributing to their educational development and success from the start date through the end of the school year, with strong potential for contract renewal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, individualized support to one student with special education needs.
- Assist with academic, social, and behavioral goals as outlined by the student’s education plan.
- Implement behavior support strategies carefully and positively.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to tailor assistance.
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working in a school environment, preferably as a paraprofessional.
- Ability to manage and respond to behavioral challenges in a calm and effective manner.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
