Job Description: Mechanical Designer

The Mechanical Designer will be responsible for creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks to support the mechanical engineering team. This role is integral to the production floor, focusing heavily on updating and improving existing designs for sheet metal parts, welded assemblies, piping layouts, and larger mechanical sub‑assemblies used in thermal‑processing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings for components used in industrial food-processing equipment.
  • Update and improve existing designs and occasionally engage in new design work.
  • Participate in layout reviews and design discussions.
  • Work closely with the Team Lead for daily task direction.
  • Collaborate with Category Managers.
  • Provide and receive feedback from the production floor to resolve design issues.
  • Support shop-floor buildability.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Experience in mechanical design, specifically with sheet metal and manufacturing processes.
  • 2+ years in a Mechanical Design role with an Associate’s in Mechanical Design or 1–2 years in a manufacturing environment with a BSME.
  • 2+ years of SolidWorks design experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with sheet metal.
  • Clear advancement opportunities with potential to grow into a supervisory or Engineer role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lodi, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
