Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A specialized teaching role is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing with telehealth expertise. This contract position is based in Essex Junction, VT, and focuses on delivering educational support and specialized instruction through remote platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing telehealth technologies to enhance accessibility and engagement.
- Develop individualized educational plans that address the unique communication and learning needs of each student.
- Collaborate with families, audiologists, and other educational professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to optimize outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all relevant education regulations and confidentiality standards.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing.
- Experience delivering instruction via telehealth platforms.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and hearing technology.
