Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Registered Nurse with PCU/Stepdown experience is needed for a contract assignment in the Grain Valley, MO area. This position offers 12-hour night shifts with a focus on providing high-quality, specialized nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit setting. Ideal candidates have at least one year of PCU nursing experience and are proficient in managing complex patient conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include monitoring and managing patients requiring close observation, utilizing skills such as arterial line management, high acuity drip administration, and experience with bipap or Airvo devices. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans, ensuring excellent clinical outcomes and patient safety.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN license with active certifications in ACLS and BLS
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) nursing experience
- Preferred experience with arterial lines, high acuity drips, and bipap/Airvo devices
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (1845-0715)
- Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment skills
- Nicotine-free practitioner (facility requirement)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
Schedule and Work Requirements:
- 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend commitment
- Coverage of major holidays with potential for schedule adjustments
- No on-call duties
- Orientation includes a structured multi-day program combining hospital and clinical training
