Role Description

S2RC is seeking a motivated Safety Technician to support safety operations, compliance audits, and training delivery across client sites in defense, construction, and general industry sectors. The Safety Technician will work under the guidance of senior safety personnel and contribute to proactive risk management, safety inspections, and field-level safety assurance.


This role is ideal for candidates with foundational safety knowledge and a desire to grow in the field of safety compliance and operations. Candidates with an OSHA 30-Hour certification are preferred; however, candidates without this credential will receive employer-sponsored training to achieve certification within 15 days of onboarding.


Potential to move to full time employment and to move to Specialist role.


Key Responsibilities

· Field Safety Support: Assist with onsite safety assessments, hazard identification, and compliance walkthroughs.

· Training Coordination: Support the delivery and tracking of site-specific safety training, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions.

· Documentation: Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, training, and corrective actions in accordance with OSHA and client protocols.

· Incident Support: Participate in the investigation of near-misses and incidents, assisting in data collection and reporting.

· PPE Compliance: Monitor the correct usage of personal protective equipment and ensure field teams adhere to safety policies.

· Safety Equipment Checks: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance logs for safety and emergency equipment (e.g., extinguishers, eyewash stations).

· Regulatory Alignment: Assist in ensuring site operations are compliant with OSHA, state, and federal safety standards.


Requirements

· High school diploma or GED required;.

· Strong communication and observational skills; capable of engaging with field staff and supervisors.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and digital reporting tools.

· Ability to travel, including out-of-state assignments, with GSA-calculated per diem.

· Must be a U.S. Citizen

· Must be able to pass a background a check


Preferred Qualifications

· 1–3 years of field safety experience in construction, defense, or general industry environments.

· Familiarity with OSHA 29 CFR 1910/1926 standards.

· Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety or related field preferred.

· OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry certification preferred; candidates without certification must complete OSHA 30 training within 15days of hire (training provided by and paid for by S2RC)

· Military experience or background supporting DoD programs.

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills a plus.
