Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Inspire student growth and support positive behavioral change as a Special Education Teacher specializing in a mental health/behavior self-contained program for the 2026-2027 academic year. Located near Rochester, NH, this contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to guide and advocate for students with unique behavioral and mental health needs at a welcoming middle school.
Ideal candidates will have the ability to create a therapeutic, structured classroom environment while meeting the individualized education plans (IEPs) of each student. Your expertise and dedication will help empower students, foster their academic and social success, and collaborate with a team of educators and support staff to deliver holistic support.
Qualifications:
- Valid New Hampshire Teaching License (required)
- Experience or training in special education, mental health, or behavioral self-contained programs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent case management and organizational abilities
- Ability to write comprehensive evaluations and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings
Responsibilities:
- Manage a classroom of approximately 10-16 students in a self-contained setting
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals
- Conduct thorough student evaluations and maintain accurate case records
- Regularly communicate with families, therapists, and fellow educators
- Engage in student support meetings, family conferences, and multidisciplinary planning
- Contribute to a positive classroom culture focused on student growth and well-being
The position is for the full school year—September 1, 2026, through June 16, 2027—with a weekly schedule of 32.5-35 hours (school hours are 7:30 AM - 2:20 PM).
