Job DescriptionSchool Social Worker Multiple RolesDates: ASAP – End of School Year

We are partnering with a supportive district that is proactively adding caseload relief School Social Workers to better meet student needs. These roles offer strong team collaboration, meaningful student impact, and clear expectations!
Position 1: Elementary School

• 2 Cognitive Impairment (CI) program classrooms
• Strong focus on social skills development
• Manageable caseload with a collaborative school team
• Opportunity to build close relationships in a smaller school setting
• Support students with social-emotional and functional skill needs
• Work closely with classroom staff and special education teams

Position 2: Elementary School

• 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) programs
• SSW supports the entire building

Position 3: Elementary School + District-Wide Comp Services

• 0.5 FTE – Elementary: Caseload relief for the full-time SSW who needs additional support
• 0.5 FTE – District-Wide Compensatory Services: Supporting students across the district
• Variety in the role
• Support multiple teams and buildings
• Provide targeted, short-term, and compensatory service

Responsibilities:

• Provide effective social work services to support students.
• Support and service in classroom groups.
• Help with screening students.
• Provide strong and effective social work services and support.
• Deliver emotional support strategies to students.
• Establish strong and healthy relationships with both students and parents/guardians.
• Educate parents/guardians on intervention strategies.
• Connect students and families with community mental health organizations if necessary.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree in Social Work
• Must possess S310 form- Approval to work in MI schools
• Previous school social work experience is preferred.
