CNC Lathe & Mill Machinist / Operator (Mazak / Haas) – 2nd Shift ONLY

Location: Clinton Township, MI
Shift: 2nd Shift (4:00 PM – 2:00 AM) – Must be committed to afternoons
Pay Range: $22 – $33/hr (based on experience and skill level)
Schedule: 50+ hours/week with consistent overtime

Position Overview

Hiring CNC Lathe (Turning) and CNC Mill (Milling) professionals across multiple skill levels — from operators to full machinists/programmers. Candidates should be able to contribute quickly, read blueprints, and support production with minimal supervision.

Note: Compensation is based strictly on demonstrated skill level. Candidates must be open within the stated pay range.

Skill-Level Breakdown

• $22 – $25/hr: CNC Operators
• • Load/unload parts
  • Perform basic edits and offsets
  • Complete tool changes
• $25 – $33/hr: CNC Machinists / Programmers
• • Perform setups and changeovers
  • Edit or create programs
  • Read blueprints and apply GD&T
  • Optimize machining processes

Machine Types

• Lathe (Turning): Producing cylindrical parts (shafts, pins, threads)
• Mill (Milling): Producing flat and complex parts (plates, housings, pockets)

Mazak and Haas experience preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and/or program CNC machines (lathe or mill)
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and program edits
• Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools
• Maintain quality standards and attention to detail
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3+ years of CNC machining experience (lathe and/or mill)
• Blueprint reading (required)
• Ability to perform setups, edits, and tool changes
• Must have own calipers
• Ability to work onsite and commit to 2nd shift

Preferred:

• GD&T knowledge
• Experience with Mazak, Haas, or Fanuc controls
• Multi-axis or live tooling experience
• CAD/CAM experience (Mastercam a plus)
