Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching License required
- Certification in special education or eligible for an emergency certification
- Experience working with high school students, ideally within autism support settings
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt lessons to diverse learning needs
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering student growth and success
Responsibilities:
- Lead instruction for a full-time classroom of high school students with autism
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adapt general education curriculum to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other educators
- Engage and communicate regularly with families to support student progress
- Maintain accurate records and attend required meetings
- Foster a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
