Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a dynamic role supporting students across diverse K-12 settings as an Occupational Therapist. This contract opportunity is based on-site near Torrance, CA, starting August 11, 2026, and running through June 4, 2027. The role is full-time, with assignments and caseloads varying by school and itinerant needs within the district. Your expertise will help shape students’ academic, behavioral, and functional success.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, valid Occupational Therapy license in California
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Prior experience or working knowledge of school-based OT services
- Strong familiarity with educational terminology, standardized assessments, and the special education process
- Comfort working independently and adapting to itinerant schedules
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with educators, families, and students from kindergarten through twelfth grade
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and implement evidence-based OT interventions for students on assigned caseloads
- Develop and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize standardized tools and OT best practices to address students’ academic and functional needs
- Maintain thorough documentation and timely progress reports
- Provide consultative support and training to school staff as needed
- Adapt service delivery across multiple sites and age groups, as assignments may change
- Stay informed on educational guidelines and occupational therapy best practices
