CNC Mill Programmer | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $57,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

Develop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis mills.
Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices.
Simulate tool paths and verify programs to prevent collisions and ensure part quality.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to optimize processes.
Troubleshoot and debug existing CNC programs and machining processes.
Create and maintain detailed setup sheets and tooling lists.
Perform first-piece inspections and make necessary program adjustments.
Stay current with advancements in CNC technology and programming techniques.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficient in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM) for generating G-code.
Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming for 3-axis and multi-axis CNC mills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.
Experience with various tooling, fixturing, and workholding methods.
Knowledge of different materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics) and their machining characteristics.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with CAD software for design and simulation (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360).
Familiarity with robotics or automated material handling systems.
Demonstrated ability to train junior programmers or machinists.
Experience with post-processor development and customization.
Knowledge of quality control methodologies (e.g., SPC, Six Sigma).
