Kids Corps, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, dedicated to providing a full Head Start to low-income familiesfrom prenatal support through age fiveusing a comprehensive, twogeneration approach to foster school readiness and family wellbeing. Founded in 1987 and funded as a Head Start grantee since 1990, we currently serve 187 children and families across multiple locations in Anchorage. Through our early education, health, and family engagement services, we prepare children for success while empowering parents and strengthening our community.
Under the direction of the Accountant, the Bookkeeper supports the financial operations of Kids Corps, Inc., helping to ensure accurate recordkeeping, compliance, and timely processing of transactions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing and coding invoices; preparing payments to vendors
- Tracking and recording incoming payments, donations, and deposits
- Assisting with payroll, payroll deductions, and tax payments
- Maintaining up-to-date records for vendors, contracts, and insurance
- Supporting financial reporting, audits, and grant documentation
- Ensuring proper documentation for all financial transactions
- Working with staff to track childcare billing and co-payments
- Helping with inventory and in-kind donation tracking
This position plays a key role in keeping our financial systems organized and compliant with Head Start regulations and internal policies.

- High School Diploma/GED + 12 months of experience: $24.65
- Associate's Degree: $27.12
- Bachelor's Degree $29.83
- High School Diploma/GED + 12 months of experience: $24.65
- Benefits: Includes health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off, and more
- Introductory Period: 90-day introductory period with a $300 sign-on bonus upon completion
- There will be a $1,000 stipend provided in June 2026 to all individuals who remain employed with KCI from September 2025- May 2026.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required with 12 months working in a similar position
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
- Preferred- understanding of Head Start, and non profit organizations
