Job Description

Company Overview

We’re partnering with a nationally recognized custom integrator based in Roseland, NJ. Our Client is a boutique firm consistently punching above its weight in the high-end residential technology space. Known for their innovation and technical sophistication, they’ve made a name for themselves with industry-first programs and consistent recognition among the top integrators in the country.

Their culture is tight-knit and fast-paced, and their team thrives on accountability, humor, and grit. With consistent demand and a growing pipeline, they're now seeking a strong operational leader to step in and drive the engine of their day-to-day execution.

Why Join Us?

  • Opportunity to grow into a COO-level role with potential for equity/sweat equity
  • Uncapped earning potential – base + project-based commissions
  • Be part of a highly respected team known for innovation in the AV space
  • Work directly with the founder and shape the next phase of company growth
  • Lead an energized and competent field team already delivering results
  • Enjoy a culture that’s direct, hard-working, collaborative, and not afraid to have fun (holiday parties, go-kart racing, and more)

Position Overview

We are seeking an AV Operations Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day operations, scheduling, and field team accountability. You’ll be replacing a key team member who wore many hats – and now we’re looking for someone even stronger to take it to the next level.

This is not your typical project manager role. You'll be organizing teams, improving internal systems, overseeing inventory, and ensuring every job hits full completion—including client sign-off and final invoice. You’ll serve as the right hand to the owner, with a path to becoming the operational leader of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage scheduling, project timelines, and technician deployment
  • Ensure projects are completed in full, on time, and invoiced—“balance is zero”
  • Create, refine, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Establish KPIs to track team efficiency, output, and billable work (target: 10 half-days per tech per week)
  • Organize inventory and parts for upcoming jobs and ensure job-site readiness
  • Use Basecamp for project tracking and QuickBooks for basic invoicing support
  • Maintain on-site presence to facilitate quick part dispatch, receive shipments, and manage job logistics
  • Lead the field team—set expectations, keep them accountable, and maintain morale
  • Build a scalable operational foundation for future growth, hiring, and potential M&A

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in operations, logistics, or project management
  • Detail-oriented to the point of obsession
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; thrives in a fast-moving environment
  • Natural leader with the gravitas to motivate and hold people accountable
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable working with tools like QuickBooks and project management software
  • AV industry experience not required—but must deeply understand technology and be able to execute against technical expectations
  • Willing to be on-site daily in Roseland, NJ; this is not a remote or hybrid position

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $50,000–$60,000
  • Bonus/Commission: Based on project completions – realistic OTE of $200,000+
  • Equity Potential: For the right individual, long-term ownership opportunities may be available

Benefits

  • Health Insurance
  • Generous PTO (Up to 24+ paid days off/year)
  • Company holidays
  • Flexibility in taking time off—up to a full paid month off if unused PTO is saved
  • Strong company culture: you’ll be part of a respected, tight-knit team
