Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Plans, directs and controls operating activities to provide an accident-free workplace, and to ensure the safety of personnel working at the production facility. This duty is performed daily.

· Investigates accidents, reviews accident reports and takes corrective action as required. This duty is performed as needed.

· Directs the operation of the generating assets to meet system demands, environmental requirements and business objectives through the coordination and scheduling of unit outages, load restrictions, personnel scheduling and utilization of resources supplied by other departments and vendors. This duty is performed daily.

· Ensures the safe and effective operation of equipment and ensures production interruptions are minimized. Leads and directs all operational activities in a manner that supports a commitment to customer service. This duty is performed daily.

· Develops leaders and employees by providing coaching, career counseling and developmental opportunities. This duty is performed daily.

· Provide vision and serve as a role model for leadership throughout the organization. This duty is performed daily.

· Demonstrates flexibility and commitment toward rotational assignments. This duty is performed daily.

· Directs, leads and supports continuous improvement of operating practices and procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency in the utilization of the generating assets. This duty is performed daily.

· Assists in directing and controlling the development and implementation of the operational and investment planning process. This duty is performed weekly. Mathematical Skills

· Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane, algebra, solid geometry and trigonometry.

Critical Thinking Skills

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
